* John Williams, Pete Chace and David Cleaver from the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio (PUCO) came down from Columbus to learn about ICMT’s research activities and check-out our facilities. PUCO is responsible for overseeing the operation of natural gas transmission pipeline systems in the State of Ohio.
* Students, faculty and staff were fortunate to have the opportunity to hear NACE Fellow Brenda Little, one of the nation’s most eminent corrosion scientists, present on "Issues for Storing Alternative Fuels". As alternative “green” fuels are developed, these will present their own challenges when it comes to corrosion. The opportunity for ICMT researchers to benefit from Dr Little’s insights, as well as those of other visitors, is a major contribution to their continuing corrosion education.
* Milton Altenberg, Chairman and CEO of Quest Integrity Group, visited for discussion of research projects and collaborations. Quest is an industry leader on asset integrity.
* Representatives from Patton Boggs, Ohio University’s law firm in Washington DC, visited ICMT as part of a fact-finding trip to the university’s various research Centers and Institutes. Patton Boggs has a global client base and interacts with Federal agencies on a daily basis. As combating corrosion becomes more of a national priority, Patton Boggs wanted to gain more insight into ICMT’s ongoing projects and capabilities.
