Dr. Srdjan Nesic, the Director of Institute for Corrosion and Multiphase Technology (ICMT) provided a lecture for the students and staff as part of the NACE Ohio University Student Section activities.
In his presentation entitled "Deep Water Horizon Trial", Dr. Nesic talked about his unique experience as a testifying expert witness in this trial, which is the largest of its kind in the US history.
In his presentation, he discussed the CFD simulation he used to estimate the rate of the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico until the wellhead was sealed. He also talked about how he was prepared for the trial
and the challenges he had with lawyer's questions during the deposition and in court.
