Load/Save Data
  Load/Save Data Tutorial
Load Data

User can load input data directly from excel file instead of entering data parameters one by one.

Data in Excel sheet has to be formatted as shown in the figure. Title ‘Parameters’ has to be present, and the data has to follow in 5 columns and 11 rows as shown. Data can be placed anywhere on the sheet but has to occupy consequent cells. The data sheet has to be named “InputData”.

After clicking Load Data button, system tries to load data from current active excel file first. If loading data fails due to one of the reasons explained below, a File Dialog is open. User can then choose another excel file from which to load data. The chosen excel file becomes active file in Excel. However, if user selected file cannot be successfully loaded into FreeCORP model, user is prompted again until the correct file is selected or user cancels the load operation.

There are three main types of failures when loading data. Loading data fails as long as one of these three errors happens:

 1. Data sheet does not exist. This error occurs when currently active excel file does not have InputData sheet.
 2. Data block is missing. The data block has to start with the value ‘Parameters’ in top left most cell, in order for the data to be found.
 3. Data contains non-numeric data. This error occurs when values contains non-numeric value.

Save Data

Save Data button is enabled right after completion of calculation. User can save data to a selected excel file on the disk by clicking Save Data button. Saved data include model parameters, graph data, and graph. User can choose destination of the saved file in a warning dialog with three following choices which is open after clicking Save Data button in a warning dialog which is open after clicking Save Data button with three following choices a new spreadsheet file.

 1. Permanently save current active workbook. Model parameters, graph data and graph which were copied to current workbook during corrosion calculation can be saved into disk by clicking Yes button.
 2. Save data to another workbook. If user does not want to replace existing file in the disk, he/she can create a new excel file to save data by clicking No button.
 3. Cancel saving. User abandons saving operation by clicking Cancel button.
