Abstract |
The present paper examines the use of low Reynolds number k-e models to predict mass and momentum transport in two different near-wall flows. A turbulent Schmidt number is used to calculate the wall mass transfer rate in fully developed channel flow. Both linear and non-linear k-e models are used to calculate the velocity fields in a plane wall jet. In each case, the low Reynolds number model represents an improvement over a wall function approach; however, important deficiencies remain. |
