NACE 2019 Poster Award Research Letter

Hamed Mansoori's NACE 2019 Poster Award Research Letter, "CO₂ Corrosion of Mild Steel Exposed to CaCO₃-Saturated Aqueous Solutions", is now published in "Corrosion" This is in recognition of him winning the Mars Fontana poster award in Corrosion Engineering at CORROSION 2019. The published work represents a portion of his PhD research into the effect of calcium and magnesium ions, ubiquitous cations present in oilfield brines, on CO₂ corrosion of mild steel. He has now published 4 journal papers on his findings in Corrosion Science, Journal of Natural Gas Science & Engineering, and Corrosion. He will be presenting a concluding paper from his PhD research about the effect of calcium and magnesium cations, and their carbonate scales, on CO₂ corrosion at CORROSION 2020 in Houston. Hamed is now a Corrosion Prevention Engineer with Occidental Petroleum and will be defending his dissertation in December.
